Dear saints,
This verse from Colossians 4:2-3 (NASB) was a good reminder for me this week:
“Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ...”
We need to be ones who are alert, like men and women standing in a watchtower who will sound the alarm when our enemy, the devil, approaches. We don’t want to be unaware of the devil’s schemes and his desire to lure us away from all that is godly. Let’s pray for open doors this week to proclaim the gospel, being watchful and thankful. Here is the news for this week:
Reminder for Sunday Service on 2/21/10
There will not be a Sunday Service (2/21) on campus. Instead, we are encouraging everyone to attend either the Men’s Retreat or the Women’s Retreat. Visit http://gatorchristianlife.com for more information about the retreats.
Apologetics on Campus
How did the Bible come to be? Is Jesus really God and how can we know if He truly is? Campus Preacher Tom Short will answer questions like these in Turlington Plaza February 22nd-24th from noon to 5 P.M. This is a great opportunity to invite friends or people from your Connect Groups who want answers to questions like these. Learn more about how to make the most of this opportunity at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq7h9SjMirA (disregard what he says about passing out magazines).
UniteNOW: Prayer
UniteNOW spring events start next week. Join with other Christians on UF’s campus for a time of prayer and unity building. UniteNOW Prayer is on Sunday, February 28th at 7:00 P.M. at the Plaza of the Americas. For more information about UniteNOW visit the Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=288475493049.
I’ll see you men at the retreat!
