Hello.
It’s a simple word, but it lets people know you’re friendly. It probably works a little better than wearing a T-shirt that says, “Islam is of the devil.” As you engage in more gospel sharing and bridge-diagram drawing this week, let me encourage to start by saying a simple “hello” to the strangers you inadvertently make eye contact with this week in your classes, dorm, or apartment area.
“If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”—Matthew 5:46-48 NIV
LINC Summer Project
This summer you have the opportunity to participate in a life-changing experience in Columbia, SC, through LINC (Laborers Impacting Nations for Christ). At LINC, you’ll join 20-40 other college students from other Great Commission Churches to live and learn in community. The focus will be “being and making disciples.” You will discover how to lead yourself and others into authenticity with Christ and His bride, the Church. The focus will be on “being and making disciples.”
Join us after Sunday Service this week for an interest meeting at the Dicus House (1730 NW 16th PL, Gainesville, FL 32605). Lunch will be provided while we share about LINC and answer your questions. We'll start at 1:20 and go for an hour. Contact Justin Dicus (justin@dicusfamily.com) for more information.
GCL’s GROW Seminars
During this week’s Sunday Service, GCL will hold GROW Seminars. These classes are designed to help you grow in your relationship with Jesus and live the Christian life. We will all gather for worship and then separate into different seminars, based upon your preference. Sunday Service will end at 1:00 P.M. this week. For specific information on the seminars visit GCL’s web site www.gatorchristianlife.com.
Men’s and Women’s GROW Retreats
Mark your calendar for next month’s men’s and women’s GROW retreats. As part of our “God’s View of Marriage” series, during the weekend of Feb. 19-21, these retreats will take place instead of Sunday Service. The women’s retreat will be Fri.- Sat. (Feb. 19-20) and the men’s retreat will be Sat-Sun (Feb. 20-21). More information to come in the weeks ahead.
