Hello dear friends! Many of you are looking forward to celebrating GCL’s 30th anniversary this weekend. Let’s pray for dry weather during the picnic this Saturday!

Aside from celebrating GCL’s 30th anniversary, the Gators (hopefully) winning, or anything else in this world, I was reminded by reading I Corinthians 15 this past week that we can celebrate the resurrection of the dead. The Apostle Paul reminds us that our hope is in the resurrection and eternal life that God has made possible through Jesus Christ: “When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’”—1 Corinthians 15:54 NASB

For us who have trusted in Jesus’ death and resurrection as the only way to satisfying God’s justice for our sins, we can be confident that we have eternal life. This eternal life started at the moment we put our trust in Jesus. Have you trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation? If so, let this truth give you hope, strength, and courage to press on each day!

Staff Interest Meeting This SundayAre you interested in full-time ministry or even just curious? Angie Marlow, manager of human resources for Great Commission Ministries (GCL staff are employed by GCM) will host an information session this Sunday, 10-11 A.M. in Little Hall. Come, listen, and ask questions.

Faithwalkers Early-Bird Registration Until October 31st (8 days!)
It’s not too late to save money on your Faithwalkers East registration. The early-bird registration has been extended to October 31st. GCL is going to Faithwalkers East in Asheville, North Carolina. Go to http://www.gccweb.org/conferences/faithwalkers/east/ to register today! This registration only covers the cost of the actual conference and not food and housing.
